Barkingside sealed a fourth victory in their last five and got the Cricklefield bragging rights with a 3-1 win against their neighbours Ilford.

Second-half goals from Roddy Lemba, James Briggs and Michael Ogboin sealed the three points for Side despite an early goal for the Foxes at Cricklefield Stadium.

The defeat means the Foxes slip to 11th in the Essex Senior League after a seventh straight loss while Michael Walther’s men pull clear of the relegation zone and move up to 15th in the table.

Ilford tweeted after the match: “A game of two halves yesterday, we totally dominated the first half and went in at at half time with a deserved 1-0 lead.

“Second half Barkingside totally dominated and brought The ESL version of Roberto Carlos on and thoroughly deserved the 1-3 win.

“Heads up, we go again.”

Barkingside goal scorer Roddy Lemba tweeted: “17 goals in 15 now. three goals away to reach my target with three games left.”
