Barkingside produced a magnificent seven to romp to a big win over struggling Wick at the Old Spotted Dog on Saturday.

Beaten 1-0 at home by high-flying FC Romania in their most recent outing, Michael Walther’s men saw Roddy Lemba and Matheus Santos net two minutes apart inside the opening quarter of an hour to put them on top.

And in-form Lemba struck again a minute before half time, as the visitors went into the break with a 3-1 advantage.

Kofi Billzy got in on the act with the fourth on 64 minutes, before Barkingside added late gloss to the scoreline with three more goals in the final quarter of an hour.

Lemba completed his second hat-trick in eight days on 76 minutes – having netted a treble in their 3-1 Friday night win at Tower Hamlets – and Michael Ogboin added a sixth four minutes from time.

Barkingside were still not finished, though, and James Briggs claimed their seventh goal on 88 minutes to lift them up to 14th in the table.

A fifth successive defeat leaves Wick six points adrift at the foot of the table and with a home match against Southend Manor up next on Tuesday.

Barkingside, meanwhile, return to Cricklefield Stadium to host Hullbridge on Monday.

Barkingside: Karrer, Bottone, Briggs, Billzy, Hunwicks, Huston-Mendy (Etcheri 68), Kelly, Lemba, Ogboin, Santos, A Clarke (Thompson 34).
