Barkingside let an early lead slip as they fell to defeat against lowly Enfield at Harlow Arena on Non League Day.

Only two minutes had been played when Jayden Mitchell-Brown put the visitors ahead on the 3G surface at Barrow Farm Stadium.

But it proved a false dawn and Enfield were back on terms just seven minutes later through Daniel Jones and took a 16th-minute lead as Andrew Trivanhu netted.

The home side went 3-1 up seven minutes before half time as James O’Brien struck, with Barkingside boss Michael Walther making a pair of substitutions before the break and another during the interval.

There was no way back for Barkingside, though, and they dropped to 12th place ahead of a challenge cup match against Enfield at Cricklefield Stadium on Monday night.

Barkingside: Hunt (Cookey 38), Bottone, Fontaine, Kelly, Lesta (Ogboin 46), Little, Mitchell-Brown, Duyile, Gayer, Sherwood (Onokwai 40), Taylor-Reid.
