Essex Senior League: West Essex 2 Redbridge 4

Redbridge returned to winning ways in the Essex Senior League last night with a 4-2 win away to West Essex.

The Motormen were playing only their fourth match in six weeks due to the fixture schedule and various postponements, but quickly got into their stride.

Brian Moses fired them ahead with 20 minutes played and 11 minutes later Thomas Gogo’s penalty made it 2-0.

West Essex responded almost immediately to reduce the deficit and despite further chances for both sides, it remained 2-1 until half time.

Once again Ricky Eaton and Joey May’s team began brightly after the restart and Tommie Turner increased their advantage in the 50th minute.

Back came the hosts though, with West Essex awarded a penalty 12 minutes from time which they dispatched.

Redbridge were not to be denied, however, and Moses completed a brace with 80 on the clock and it finished 4-2.

The victory boosts the Oakside club ahead of Saturday’s crunch clash away to title rivals FC Romania.
