Redbridge fell to a last minute defeat in their final game of the Essex Senior League campaign to lose 1-0 to Basildon United.

The Motormen finished the season in fourth while the Bees 89th minute goal from Marcus Bowers sealed the three points for his side which was enough to put them second and guarantee promotion to the Bostik North.

Joint-manager Joe May tweeted after the match: “Was a hard one to take last night after a excellent performance from the boys, but full credit to Basildon United for staying in the game and getting a last minute winner.

“But congratulations to Marc Harrison and Liam Wallace on promotion and all the best for next season.”

Basildon United: Wheatley, Selby-Knight, Burgess, Skeels, Whitby, Phillips, Adlington, Spooner, Bowers, Cumming, Brown.
