Barkingside had to settle for a share of the spoils after a late equaliser from Hullbridge Sports to make it a 1-1 draw.

Garyay Thompson’s early goal was cancelled out by Adebola Sotoyinbo in the freezing cold weather at Cricklefield Stadium last night.

The breakthrough came midway through the first-half when after the visitors failed to clear, the hosts eventually saw the ball pulled back to Thompson and he converted to give the home side the lead.

The visitors manager Darren Manning was tgeb sent from the dugout, frustrated that he felt his team were being hard done by, but midway through the second-half Sports found a leveller when new signing Callum Ibe battled for the ball inside the box and the ball eventually fell to Adebola Sotoyinbo and he floated an effort over keeper Wayne Baker and in.

Sports had chances to win it as they dominated thereafter but they could not find that all important second goal and the game ended all square.
