Foxes were 2-1 down at half time, but earned an excellent 4-2 victory and announced three new additions this morning

Ilford showed their character to come from behind to beat Eton Manor in the Essex Senior League last night.

The Foxes trailed 2-1 at half time, but three goals after the break gave them an excellent 4-2 success.

Allan Fenn saw his team make a fantastic start at Cricklefields as Luke Thomas put them in front after four minutes with a low finish.

Manor levelled with quarter of an hour played when Aaron Wallis headed home at the near post.

Chris Clark was called upon to prevent the visitors taking the lead minutes later before Foxes responded.

Danny Jones nearly converted Chris Stevens centre, but Manor’s goalkeeper Lukecos Joseph cut out the cross.

Ilford continued to press for the second and Thomas tested the away custodian from the edge of the area.

After enjoying a strong period of play, Manor ended the half strongly with Joe Bricknell firing a free kick wide.

The visitors then took the lead three minutes before the break when Ben Bradbury fired home at the near post.

Fenn’s team were facing the prospect of a third defeat out of five in the league at half time and need to respond.

They did just that with Stevens going close with a header before Isaac Nkosi blazed over the crossbar.

Manor began to threat again, however, with Bradbury firing wide from 25-yards and Fenn introduced Carl Mullings.

And it worked a treat with Ilford turning the game around completely during a crazy second half spell.

First Nkosi hit the crossbar with a header at the back post and Connor Lane was on hand to level in the 59th minute.

Jones put Foxes ahead just three minutes later when he headed past Joseph in the Manor goal.

It sparked big celebrations from the Ilford players, although the game was far from over at Cricklefields.

Chances were spurned by both teams with Bricknell firing a good free kick opportunity wide.

Fenn’s men then made the game safe six minutes from time when Joseph spilled a shot and Mullings tapped in the rebound.

Manor’s night was compounded when in-form striker Josh Sykes was given a red card late on at Cricklefields.

The full time whistle followed soon after to give Ilford an impressive victory and move them up to 13th.

Foxes also revealed this morning the additions of Adam Seal, Amon Walton Owen and Anton Stephenson.
