Dagenham & Redbridge defender Bondz N’Gala is keen to stay in the team and help the club get themselves back on track.
The 28-year-old spent the last two months on loan at rival National League club Leyton Orient, after finding himself out of favour, but returned to the Victoria Road club last week.
And N’Gala found himself straight back in the starting line-up on Saturday, when Daggers suffered a 3-1 home defeat at the hands of strugglers Solihull Moors.
The former Barnet man admitted it was not good enough and they must improve if they want to push for promotion.
“I’m very disappointed, it was a disappointing result, but we have to just get together and go again,” he said.
“I think the scoreline flatters the amount of chances Solihull had, I think they had three chances and scored all three, but in all honesty it’s not a good result for a team pushing for promotion.”
The former West Ham United youngster started the first five matches of the season for Daggers, before finding himself out of the matchday squad.
He was sent out on loan to Orient on November 23 and returned on January 23 after making seven appearances for Justin Edinburgh’s men.
The defender scored in a 2-0 victory against Maidstone and was also sent off after just four minutes in the O’s 1-0 defeat to Bromley.
“I was away for two months, obviously I’m back now, but in all honesty it should have been a better performance and a better result for the team,” he added.
N’Gala believes Daggers have to dig deep and pull themselves out of the rut they find themselves in after only winning once in their last eight league fixtures.
“That’s the idea, to dig in together and try getting results, and try to push for promotion,” he said.
“There are still 15 games left, we need to try and get a winning run together and then just you never know what could happen.”
John Still’s men have conceded 10 goals in their last four matches and N’Gala is hoping he can claim a regular spot in the first-team line-up and help Dagenham claw their way back up the National League table.
“Yeah, that’s definitely a target to stay in the team, get a good run and help the team get some points,” he said.
