West Ham United get their Premier League campaign underway on Sunday when they make the long trip north to face Liverpool.

New Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini will hope to get his tenure off to a good start, while there could be several debutants in action for the east Londoners.

Leyton Orient, meanwhile, go in search of a first Vanarama National League win of the season when they host Barrow on Saturday, before visiting Maidstone United on Tuesday night.

The O’s took on Ebbsfleet United in midweek and earned a 1-1 draw, which was the same result Justin Edinburgh’s men got in their season opener at Salford City last weekend.

Divisional rivals Daggers, meanwhile, are still looking for their first points of the new term and welcome Maidenhead United on Saturday, before visiting Aldershot Town on Tuesday.

Daggers were beaten 2-1 at home to Maidstone United in midweek, while the Peter Taylor era began last weekend with a 1-0 loss at Boreham Wood.

All this, plus the start of the new season in the Bostik Leagues, is discussed on this week’s East London Football Podcast.

Host Matt Withers is joined by Dave Evans, George Sessions, Ned Keating and Jacob Ranson to mull over another week in east London football.
