Daggers conceded early in each half to lose 2-0 to Shots in National League

Dagenham & Redbridge assistant manager Junior Lewis was pleased with the display from the Essex club, despite losing 2-0 at home to Aldershot Town in the National League.

Daggers fell behind early in the first half when Jim Kellerman fired Shots ahead in just the fourth minute.

History repeated itself with John Still’s men also conceding just four minutes into the second half, with Scott Rendell on target for the Hampshire side.

The goals consigned the Victoria Road side to a fourth straight loss in the league, but Lewis insists he was content with what he saw from Daggers.

“I feel disappointed because of how well we played. If you take the goals out of the game, we were the better side,” he said.

“They put the ball in the box and score, we put the ball in the box and don’t score.

“They have a shot and score, we have a few shots and we don’t. We didn’t work their keeper enough.”
