Junior Dadson’s hat-trick sent Redbridge to a fifth successive defeat in Ryman North on Bank Holiday Monday.

The former Hornchurch winger claimed his first goal just before half time to put Hawks 2-0 up, then netted twice more in the space of a minute late on to complete his treble and send Motormen home well beaten.

And joint bosses Dave Ross and Ricky Eaton will be concerned at the way their side are leaking goals as this latest reverse made it 19 conceded in the last five fixtures, while scoring only twice themselves.

Redbridge travelled north after bowing out of the FA Cup at home to Heybridge Swifts on Saturday.

And they fell behind midway through the first half when Alex Read saw his header hit the crossbar and fall invitingly for Fabion Simms to force home from close range.

The home side doubled their advantage when a superb defence-splitting pass found Dadson, who lobbed Jack Avery from the edge of the box.

Redbridge had looked threatening on occasions on the 3G pitch at The Harlow Arena and the scoreline remained unchanged until the 86th minute when Read picked up a poor clearance and crossed for Dadson to tap home his second goal of the afternoon.

A minute later and it was 4-0 as Simms cut the ball back from the byline and Dadson, having netted twice in his side’s 5-1 FA Cup win over Southend Manor two days earlier, completed his hat-trick and a productive weekend personally.

Redbridge will look to find a response when they welcome Dereham to Oakside Stadium on Saturday.

Redbridge: Avery, Bansende, G Winn, Thomas, Ogunleye, Kabashi, Gent, Jones, Draker, Murphy, R Winn.

Unused subs: Good, Knight, Francis, Turner, Alfred.
