Churchfields have reached the final of the Premier League Primary Stars tournament after they emerged as winners of the West Ham Foundation event.

The primary school will now represent West Ham United in the national finals at the King Power Stadium, the home of Leicester City in May.

In their four group games they only conceded a single goal as they defeated Fairhouse 1-0, Aldersbrook 3-0, George Carey 2-0 and drew with Grafton 1-1. That took Churchfields through to the quarter-finals where they defeated Clockhouse 2-0.

Churchfields faced their biggest test in the semi-final as they were within seconds of being eliminated by Rosetta who missed a penalty which would have taken them through.

They held their nerve to win on spot kicks to take them into the final where they defeated Valance 2-0 to claim the winners’ medals and a trip to the finals at Leicester.
