Ben Bradbury has been the subject of a seven-day approach from Cambridge City

Redbridge could be set to lose another one of their FA Cup heroes this week after the club received a seven-day approach for winger Ben Bradbury.

Having already lost Nathan Gordon to Ryman One North rivals Grays Athletic last week, the Motormen could be forced to do without their leading goalscorer – who is currently sidelined with a hand injury.

Southern Premier side Cambridge City, who Redbridge defeated in the FA Trophy earlier in the season, are keen to take Bradbury to Milton Road.

Boss Terry Spillane admits it would be disappointing to see another player leave the Oakside club, but remains hopeful of keeping the 23-year-old, who has already turned down Ryman Premier’s Billericay Town earlier in the season.

“We’ll wait and see what the outcome is but it is a level higher and they are going for the play-offs as well,” said Spillane.

“Ben had turned down a few offers from higher clubs because of the performances in the cup run which has put our players in the shop window.

“Unlike with Nathan last week, which is a sideways move, this is a step up for Ben and you can’t get in anyone’s way of a move if they are going higher.

“I had planned to be without Ben anyway for the next four to six weeks because of his injury, but it will still be disappointing to lose him.”
