Barkingside suffered a 3-0 defeat at home to Essex Senior League rivals West Essex.

Michael Walther’s side were beaten by a dominant performance from West Essex at Cricklefield Stadium last night.

The visitors went close in the opening ten times when Cameron Gray sent a free-kick just wide.

They kept pressing and it was Tom Macleod who gave them the lead with a thunderous header from an inswinging Cameron Gray corner in the thirty fifth minute.

West Essex doubled their lead 15 minutes into the second half when Maamoon Khan slotted home a header from a James Bromley corner to make it 2-0.

Twenty minutes later Barkingside went close, but the visitors countered their attack and added a third through Gray, who was picked out by Michael Mignot inside the box.

While, league rivals Redbridge lost 1-0 to Enfield at home.

Barkingside: Hunt, Clarke, Sherwood, Pooley, Taylor-Reid, Payne, Mitchell-Brown, Martelli, Ogboin, Ethceri and Fontaine.
