Barkingside remain bottom of the Essex Senior League after falling to yet another defeat this time to high-flying Stansted.

The Airportmen sealed a 2-1 win against Michael Walther’s struggling side to move them top of the table.

Goals from Connor Hammond and Moses Carvalho sealed the three points for the visitors at Cricklefield Stadium despite going down to 10-men.

Hammond opened the scoring in the 25th minute before Stansted went down to 10-men for kicking the corner flag shortly after.

Side found an equaliser in the 74th minute when Warren Kayembe scored his first goal for the club.

Carvalho restored Stansted’s lead to seal them the points and continue their impressive run of form going.

Barkingside now have an away fixture against another in-form side in Walthamstow as they still search for their first league victory on Wednesday evening.

They also face a trip to Hoddesdon Town next weekend so they’ll be hoping to pull off an upset this week to get them on track.
