Barkingside and Sporting Bengal United played out a goalless draw at Cricklefield Stadium last night.

Side have begun the season with two goalless draws to start the new Essex Senior League campaign while Bengal got off to a solid start by picking up a point and a clean sheet in the match.

Assistant manager Francesco Zabotti tweeted: “Another clean sheet for the Barkingside lads.

“Great work rate, still unbeaten Let’s go again.”

Both sides will now turn their attentions away from the league as they have FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round matches this weekend.

Michael Walther’s Barkingside face league rivals Leyton Athletic in their tie while Imrul Gazi’s men host a new-look Ilford side at the Mile End Stadium as they look to progress through to the Preliminary Round.

The prize money if they progress will be £1,500 which would boost both clubs massively to help them with expenses throughout the season.
