Essex Open complete season in style, with F team perfect following a 14th straight win

Essex Open ended their title-winning Essex Met League season in style with a 65-47 win over Leyton.
Missing captain Zoe Humphrey, they saw Maddie Oshodi and Leah Humphries convert early goals to build an 8-3 lead.
Leyton rallied to make it 18-12 at the first break, but Rebecca Wilks, Sarah Biss and Isabella Morgan-Smith dominated mid-court in the second quarter.
The Essex shooters showed fine form to widen the gap to 29-20, before Leyton’s late surge cut the deficit to 31-27 at half time.
Two quick goals after the restart reduced the difference to two, but Essex gradually got back on top as Jasmin Odeogberin produced excellent defensive work with Rose Morgan-Smith.
The lead grew to 45-37 at the final break, as Oshodi and Humphries poured in more goals in the closing quarter to complete an 18-goal margin of victory aas the team celebrated their third title in four years.

*Essex Open B secured their place in Division One with a convincing 73-42 triumph over Marshalls, who were relegated.
After a slow start saw them fall 4-2 down, Essex got back on terms and then pulled away as Biss, Nicky Wilks and Sam Lawrence dominated mid-court.
Harriet Welton and debutant Sophia Sefton began to score with more frequency as Essex went 19-10 up, with Lucy Milberry introduced into the attack.
But Marshalls replied after the restart to win the second quarter 13-11, cutting the gap to seven at half time.
Essex went on a 9-1 run, though, as Sefton and Milberry scored freely and Ellie Stanley and Vanessa Culvier defended strongly to take the third quarter 21-8 and the final quarter 22-11.

*Essex Open C finished third in Division Four after beating Rileys 37-28, while the D team lost 46-37 to Chigwell to finish mid-table.
The F team beat Marshalls Gold 57-16 for their 14th straight win to complete a perfect season in Division Eight, while Essex Open E beat Foxes 52-39 having only lost to their clubmates this season.
Essex Open G beat Phoenix Flames in their last match but just missed out on promotion.
