East London Runners’ women maintained their lead in the East London Five Interclub Series after finish first at the Barking Park 5k on Monday.

And the men find themselves in a share of first place with Ilford, after finishing second in the penultimate event.

Thomas Grimes was seventh in 16.48, just ahead of Patrick Brown (16.51) and Mark Boulton (16.54), as Dan Gritton (17.48), Dan Senior (18.24) and Daniel Slipper (18.34) completed the scoring six.

Karen Levison (20.31) led the women on her return from injury, as Judith Vonberg (20.35), Roisin Archer (21.50) and Katherine Gardner (22.19) made up the quartet.

And Mark Wyatt defied injury to help Anna Watt (29.14) break 30 minutes for the first time.

*Aaron Browne won the Lee Valley Velopark one-mile race in 5.12, while Jamie Xavier (46.51) was eighth in the 10k, as Becky Whitwam finished in 66.41.

Dominic Dragonetti ran the 10-mile event in 1:19.02 and Jason Levy clocked 1:35.20.

Paul Marshall finished the Olympic Park Great Local Run 5k in 26.35 for ninth place, with Jakub Czeczotka clocking 27.40.
