Dagenham & Redbridge manager Daryl McMahon insists his side must keep believing as recent performances are warranting better results.

Daggers will welcome Boreham Wood to Victoria Road on Saturday after they were due to make the trip to Solihull Moors last night (Tuesday).

They’ve played well in the last three games but only picked up a win against Bromley while suffering narrow last-minute defeats to both Sutton United and Yeovil Town.

“We have to keep believing and sticking to the system that we’re playing because the players are playing really well and I'm sure the results will turn in our favour,” McMahon said.

“If we look back on our last three performances, they probably for me have been our most consistent performances in a row in terms of creating chances, and defending well.

“We’ve let in three goals from individual errors - two penalties and a free-kick - but our general defending and attacking play has been good across the board.

“The worst performance out of the three was probably Bromley and we won 1-0. The other two were really good performances. We just didn’t have the quality in the box.”

Defender Callum Reynolds was set to miss out on the Solihull Moors game due to suspension following his red card at Yeovil Town.

McMahon says he will now have to fight regain his place as it offers up an opportunity to one of the other defenders in the squad.

“I’ve said this all the time, it’s someone else’s turn to step up and play, that’s what we’ve got players in the squad for.

“[If] somebody misses out or drops out then someone has an opportunity so it’s up to the players that step in to take that opportunity and come Saturday Callum Reynolds isn’t needed.

“It’s important that the squad feels like that. Matt Robinson, who hadn’t played loads until the last six weeks, has come in and arguably been our best player.

“He has taken his chance, played well, and showed up in the games. I think whoever plays has those same opportunities moving forward.”
