The latest news from the Hainault Roads cycling club

Hainault Roads ended the 2017 season by hosting another successful Hainault Two-Up event, despite having to use a different course compared to previous years.

In the weeks prior to this year’s edition, the roads the course regularly follow were littered with roadworks.

After careful consideration, the course was altered thanks to co-operation from Essex Traffic Management, the CTT London East Team and Aythorpe Roding Village Hall.

On the day, the Hainault Roads support team was in full force as they helped to marshal the course.

The support team helped by pushing off, relaying the finishing times, calculating the times and position and, most importantly of all, running a successful tea room.

Hainault Roads’ very own Graham Brown and Graham Lawrenson teamed up to finish 15th of 21 teams, clocking one hour, nine minutes and 43 seconds. The date for next year’s Hainault Two-Ups has already been announced, with the event to return on October 14.
