Wanstead proved too strong for Upminster in their Essex League Premier Division clash at Overton Drive.
Stand-in captain Hassan Chowdhury (101) chose to bat after winning the toss and shared a big opening stand with Arfan Akram (109), with both hitting centuries.
Feroze Khushi maintained his good form with 60 as the home side reached 315-5.
Connor Whetstone (4-59) proved the pick of the Upminster attack, as John Curtis took the other wicket to fall.
But Kishen Velani shone with the ball in Upminster’s reply, claiming 5-30 from his seven overs as the visitors were dismissed for 181 in 40 overs.
Shafiq Rahman hit two sixes and four fours in his top score of 55, but Alan Ison (31) and Louis Pickering (20) were the only other visiting batsmen to make much of an impression.
Victory leaves defending champions Wanstead 23 points clear of Brentwood at the top of the table, while Upminster remain bottom, 23 points adrift of safety as the season’s midway point approaches this weekend.
