Struggling South Woodford ended up well beaten by Belhus in their latest Essex League Division One outing.

Put into bat by the visitors, they struggled to reach 164 before being dismissed in their final over.

Krishan Vadher top scored with an unbeaten 38 as five other South Woodford batsmen got into double figures but failed to pass 22, with Matt Doran (3-23), Connor Day (2-29) and Danny Norris (2-30) combining to good effect with the ball for Belhus.

And visiting captain Danny Joyce (72 not out) and brother Joe (84 not out) had few problems knocking off the runs in reply, sharing an unbroken 168-run opening stand to steer their side to a 10-wicket victory.

A fifth defeat in eight matches this season leaves South Woodford bottom of the table, 18 points adrift of safety, ahead of their trip to Harlow this weekend, which represents the campaign’s midway point.
