The hosts chose to bat after winning the toss, but Indika Wickramaratne struck early with the new ball for South Woodford.

Jake McMullen ended a 59-run stand for the second wicket and claimed another wicket soon after, before Copper (4-24) claimed the first two wickets of his haul to make it 111-5.

McMullen (3-46) and Copper then reduced Harlow Town to 123-8, but Ahmed Khawaja held firm and got to within two runs of his century when he fell to Saihaj Jaspal with the total on 207.

The hosts closed on 232-9, with South Woodford’s opening pair then knocking off the runs in reply in 40 overs.
