Oakfield Parkonians produced a good run chase to beat Old Southendian in Essex League Division Two.

Sent into the field after losing the toss, Parks saw young Eshun Kalley strike twice with the new ball to leave the hosts 35-2.

Kalley (3-57) ended a 65-run stand for the third wicket, with Ramya Upadhyay also having success, before Selvam Ramasamy (2-23) returned to nab a late brace.

Anujan Thiru and Paran Kalley produced run outs as Southendian closed on 207-8, with Dhruv Patel (27) putting on 61 for the first Parks wicket with Vikram Handa, who hit 38 before falling with the score on 86.

The visitors suffered a bit of a wobble after that, as Haris Khan, captain Jibran Azam and Paran Kalley fell cheaply to leave them 110-5.

Upadhyay was sixth man out with the score on 141, but Dave Rai hit seven fours in an unbeaten 61 from 70 balls and had support from Eshun Kalley (23 not out) as Parks reached their target with four wickets and 12 balls to spare.
