Good day for Redbridge rivals

Hainault & Clayhall, Fives & Heronians and Oakfield Parkonians all had reason to cheer after good wins in the Essex League at the weekend.

Irfan Shah hit a six and 11 fours in his 90, from 121 balls, as Hainault made 228-9 against Hadleigh in Division One.

Captain Ryan Hurst (25) shared a 54-run stand with Shah, while Rameez Rehman (21) also chipped in.

And a fine spell from Bilal Makodia (4-30) left Hadleigh in deep trouble at 22-4 in reply.

Hurst (2-56) nabbed a brace later in the innings to help seal a 71-run win for his side.

Fives remain top of Division Two after beating Horndon by three wickets.

Greg Summers (4-39) and Selvam Ramasamy (4-63) shared bowling honours as the home side were dimissed for 219 in 45 overs.

Gamindu Kanishka (2-22) nabbed a brace of wickets, but Fives lost openers Gary Edwards and Terry Ballard cheaply in reply.

Gary Norris (70) and Kanishka (75) turned the match in their favour, though, and Summers (22 not out) steered Fives home.

Oakfield Parkonians remain top of Division Three after beating Woodford Green in their derby meeting.

Parks piled up 314-6, with Haris Khan (90) and captain Jibran Azam (52) leading the way with the bat, before dismissing Green for 156.
