Event to take place at Jack Carter Pavilion

Hainault & Clayhall Cricket Club are hosting a consultation workshop on July 25 to help the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) help improve its understanding and levels of engagement with South Asian cricket fans.

The event is one of several that will take place across the country as part of a national initiative and will run from 7pm to 9.30pm.

The event will also be attended by Essex CCC stars Mohammed Amir, Ravi Bopara, Varun Chopra and Ashar Zaidi, who will share their own personal experiences of the game.

“Today we are only scratching the surface of the potential engagement with cricket from the UK’s South Asian communities,” said Lord Patel of Bradford, the ECB’s independent director.

“This is a huge opportunity to grow the game and we want to hear from people in South Asian communities who play or follow cricket, but also from those who don’t.”
