Hainault & Clayhall were relegated from Shepherd Neame Essex League Division One after losing to bottom club Orsett.

After choosing to bat first, Hainault lost Sagar Joshi and Omar Akram cheaply to find themselves 13-2.

Etinder Bopara followed with the total on 35, with Mousshin Ismail also falling after making a start to leave Hainault 66-4.

Captain Irfan Shah (42) and Asfaq Ahmed (33) made the most impact as Hainault were eventually dismissed for 147 in the 45th over, with Atif Malik striking early with the ball in reply.

Muhammad Rahim and Faizan Muhammad also had success as Orsett slipped to 57-3, with Bopara, Ahmed and Malik also getting in on the act.

But Hainault did not have enough runs on the board and saw Orsett claim a four-wicket win in the 36th over as they finished six points adrift of Gidea Park & Romford.
