Wanstead were pipped to the Essex League Premier Division title by Chelmsford on a dramatic final day of the season.
The Herons went into their match with Chingford with a sizeable lead at the top of the table, but were dismissed for 158 at Overton Drive.
Arfan Akram fell two runs short of a half-century, but only Kishen Velani (28) and Jonathan Das (22 not out) passed 20 as Liam Lannen (6-34) produced a fine spell for the visitors.
Aron Nijjar and captain Joe Ellis-Grewal combined to reduce Chingford to 48-6 and a seventh wicket fell to Mohammed Fayyaz Khan with the total on 84.
But Andrew MacGregor (62 not out) and Mathew Dzodzos shared an unbroken 75 for the eight wicket to secure victory and left Wanstead with just five bonus points.
Meanwhile, Chelmsford’s 38-run win over relegated Colchester at Chelmer Park, after Ben Waring (5-25) and James Clifford (4-47) shone, saw them leapfrog Wanstead and snatch the title.
