Having seen the first match of the new campaign abandoned at Oakfield Parkonians a week earlier, they saw Saihaj Jaspal strike early with the new ball.

Jaspal and Bradley Copper had further success to reduce the visitors to 68-3, before Kevin Sargent was run out with the score on 81.

Copper (3-54) struck twice more to make it 152-6, with Leigh captain Jon Edwards eventually succumbing to Jaspal after hitting 111 off 119 balls.

Jaspal (4-63) claimed another scalp before Krishan Vadher ended the innings on 204, with Copper hitting a quick 38 off 27 balls in reply, including two sixes and four fours.

Copper put on 68 for the first wicket with Henry Blackwell, who added another 69 with Kasey Harris before falling for 61 off 72 balls, having hit 12 fours.

Captain Joe Craddock fell cheaply and Jaspal followed for a duck, before Harris (51) was fifth man out with the total on 185.

Harry Neicho (21 not out) and Kabir Rashid saw the home side to their target without further loss though in the 41st over.
