Oakfield Parkonians and Fives & Heronians both fell to defeat in their latest Shepherd Neame Essex League Division Two outings.

Parks captain Dave Rai put visiting Old Southendian into bat after winning the toss and saw Anujan Thiru and Selvam Ramasamy strike with the new ball.

And the pair combined for seven wickets, with Ramasamy (4-30) the pick of the attack ahead of Thiru (3-23).

Abdul Razzaq (2-19) and Eshun Kalley claimed the other wickets to fall as the visitors were dismissed for 133 in the 49th over.

But Parks struggled with the bat in reply as Ahmed Khawaja (6-14) ran through the middle and lower order.

Dhruv Patel (50) was the only home batsman to make an impact, with opening partner Shane Vamadevan and Paran Kalley the only others in double figures as Parks were skittled for 87 in just 22 overs.

Fives & Heronians reached 225-6 against Horndon, but the home side claimed a seven-wicket win in the 43rd over of their reply.
