Essex League: Ilford ease past Hadleigh

Ilford cruised to a nine-wicket win at Shepherd Neame Essex League Premier Division rivals Hadleigh.

Essex staffer Ashar Zaidi (3-53) and fellow spinner Theeban Tavarasa (3-28) wrought havoc with the new ball to reduce the home side to 19-5.

And although Hadleigh rallied, Arshad Haroon and Mohammad Ahktar also got in on the act to leave them 75-8.

Richard Revell (34) put on 64 for the ninth wicket with Sam Handley (70), before both fell to Haroon (3-12) as the innings ended on 139.

And Ilford saw Harsh Kumar and Akash Raji put on 131 for the first wicket in reply, before Kumar fell for 76 off 96 balls, having hit a six and 10 fours.

Raji struck four boundaries to finish unbeaten on 45 from 114 delivieres alongside Akhil Anil as Ilford reached their target in the 36th over.
