Shed beat Leigh-on-Sea by five wickets last weekend

South Woodford will want to maintain their unbeaten start to the new Shepherd Neame Essex League Division Two season when they visit Harlow on Saturday.

The Shed recorded a five-wicket win at home to Leigh-on-Sea on Saturday, taking 20 points for their efforts.

After winning the toss, the Highfield Road outfit elected to field and bowled Leigh out for 204, with Saj Jaspal taking 4-63.

In reply, Henry Blackwell (61) and Kasey Harris (51) both hit half-centuries as the Shed completed their chase inside 41 overs.

It was a first league win of the season for Joe Craddock’s men, who saw their opening-day trip to Oakfield Parkonians end in abandonment.

After two games, the Highfield Road outfit are just five points adrift of early pacesetters Loughton and will look to bridge that gap this Saturday.

However, Harlow have also enjoyed a bright start to the new term and the Shed know it will be tough on Saturday.
