A round-up of the latest matches from Essex Division Two

Hainault remain joint-top of Essex Division Two following a 35-run success at home to local rivals Oakfield Parkonians.

After electing to bat, the hosts were all out for 221 with skipper Zoheb Sharif’s opening knock of 45 the top score, while opposing captain Jibran Azam finished with figures of 4-31.

Despite a dogged 56 from Ramya Upadhyah in reply, Oakfield were all out for 186 in reply, with Mousshin Ismail, Arshad Mughal, Matthew Worsnop, Sharif and Ryan Hurst all taking two wickets apiece.

Next up for Hainault is a clash at home to Horndon, while Oakfield host Old Brentwoods, who lost by 100 runs at home to Fives & Heronians on Saturday.

After winning the toss, the hosts put Fives in to bat, but half-centuries from Jake Poulter (70 not out) and Fahad Iqbal (52) saw the visitors close on 234-8, despite Baber Choudhary taking 3-37.

The hosts struggled in reply, with Mo Amin (44) the only man to go past 20 as Brentwoods were bowled out inside 36 overs, with Iqbal taking 3-15.

Next up for Fives is a trip to Old Southendian.
