Barkingside Formula Ford star Scott Malvern has been called up by Ford Motorsport to help develop the next generation Formula Ford race car.

The Dunlop MSA Champion of Great Britain and Formula Ford Festival winner reported good progress on the new project in his latest outing at Silverstone last Friday, following hot on the heels of further development work at Brands Hatch and Magny-Cours circuit in France.

Malvern said: “When you build any new car there will inevitably be some teething problems and this car is quite a departure in design from the previous model that I have been racing this year.

“But I’m pleased to report that we are rapidly getting to grips with it and sorting things out.

“I’m really enjoying the work and flattered that Ford should ask for my input.”

The busy young champion will also be a testing a GP3 car at the Circuit De Catalunya near Barcelona in Spain.

The GP3 championship, which supports the European Formula One Grand Prix events, is a possible option for Malvern in 2012 as he looks to progress his so far very successful single-seater racing career.
