Gator ABC have two boxers through to the National Youth Championship finals in Hayes on Sunday.
Their pair came through their respective quarter and semi-finals in Reading at the weekend, in contrasting styles.
Javir Sanger had to work hard in his semi-final with Ewan Martin of Kemsing, but landed the more eye-catching punches over the three rounds to claim victory in a close-fought contest.
Clubmate Jamal Berleen received byes in both of his bouts to reach the final.
*Fairbairn’s Joshua Gustave lost out to Bradley Goldsmith, from Coventry’s Triumph club, in an excellent NACYP Class D final in Manchester.
Club spokesman Jumbo Basi said: “It was very well contested and what a great experience for the lad, making it all the way to the national finals.
“He can enjoy his Christmas and be back for the senior ABAs in February/March.”
*Ilford light-heavyweight Anthony Yarde made the long trek to California only to be left without a fight on the Deontay Wilder-Tyson Fury bill in Los Angeles.
Four opponents were named to face undefeated world title prospect Yarde, before the California State Commission ruled it was too late to sanction his bout.
Promoter Frank Warren said: “It was a ridiculous situation after Anthony had trained hard and travelled to LA.”
