Fairbairn boxer Joshua Gustave will compete in the finals of the London Elite Championships at the Royal National Hotel in Russell Square on Thursday.

Gustave won through to the final of his division after beating Terry Conroy in the semi-finals.

The Fairbairn man will now meet Jermaine Williams of Hackney Boxing Academy, who beat Robbie Chapman of IQ Neasden, in the final this Thursday.

There was disappointment, though, for Gustave’s Fairbairn colleague Fatjon Gola, who lost his semi-final.

Gola was paired up against Edward Barrett of the Powerday Hooks club in the final four.

Despite the best efforts of the Fairbairn man, Gola suffered a points defeat and saw his hopes of London Elite Championships glory this year come to an end.

Gola, however, will no doubt be rooting for his fellow Fairbairn boxer Gustave as he looks to beat Williams and win the London Elite Championships title.
