Ryman North: Witham Town 3 Barkingside 2

Two goals from Tyrone Scarlet were not enough to stop Barkingside slipping to a 3-2 defeat away to Witham Town.

After late goals had cost Side victory in their last two Ryman North matches, the team must have been delighted when Scarlet struck his first in the fifth minute.

But Witham struck back through John Watson eight minutes later to level the scores at Spa Road.

And the Town took the lead with just eight minutes left in the first half when Scott Kemp found the back of the net.

Scarlet struck again in the 62nd minute to restore parity between the two teams who currently find themselves at the wrong end of the table.

But the scores were not level for long when Kemp scored his second of the match just two minutes after Scarlet’s equaliser.

Side could not find a way back into the match as their winless run in the league now stretches to five matches.
