Essex Senior League: Barkingside 1 Ilford 5

Ilford ended their four game losing streak in fine style as they sealed a 5-1 win over local rivals Barkingside to earn the Cricklefield bragging rights.

A brace from Lauric Diakiesse and goals Lion Docaj, Seye Okunlola and substitute Mansoor Sultanee sealed the three points for the Foxes and left Side still searching for their first win of the Essex Senior League.

The visitors broke the deadlock in the third minute as Lion Docaj found the back of the net after being played through by Josh Perry to give his side an early advantage.

Diakiesse then doubled his side’s lead as he let fly from a free-kick and it went past goalkeeper Mikel Breckenridge from 20 yards.

They took a 2-0 lead into the half-time break but came out determined to add to their lead and put the game out of sight.

Diakiesse bagged his second of the game as he fired home in the 55th minute to make it 3-0 and Okunlola then added another to make it 4-0 in the 64th minute.

Side’s Michael Clarke pulled one back to make it 4-1 but the fightback was short lived as substiture Sultanee found the net to seal a 5-1 win.
