The latest news from the East London Runners club

East London Runners member Thomas Grimes set a new club record for the marathon over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Grimes clocked two hours, 37 minutes and 35 seconds at the Great Limerick Run, which beat the previous club mark.

Jennifer Ansell and Eleanor Wilkinson also jetted off over the Bank Holiday weekend to compete in the Geneva Marathon.

Ansell was first home out of the pair after clocking 3:22.26, while Wilkinson set a new best to finish in 3:26.16 — a time good enough to qualify for the Boston Marathon.

Lucy Barron (1:57.26) and Gemma Foxall (1:57.29) both completed a half marathon in Geneva, while Dan Gritton ran the Gutenburg marathon in Mainz in 2:59.31.

Closer to home, James Nichols came 10th at the Run Through Crystal Palace 10k in 40.17, while Mark Moir set a new best of 40.50 to come 13th.

Spencer Evans (39.27), Alex Bee (39.27), Daniel Slipper (40.47) and Megan Cullis (66.56) all completed the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park 10k.
