Ilford AC athlete Steve Parker marked his return from a slight injury by winning the Essex Championships V60 marathon title.
Parker was one of two club members that took part in the Championships, which were run as part of the Halstead marathon.
Having recently overcome a small niggle, Parker clocked three hours, 42 minutes and 22 seconds over the hilly course to finish first in his age group and 96th overall.
Ilford club-mate Neil Crisp was also in action, finishing in 3:20.34 for 45th overall and sixth in the V50 category.
Both were indebted to their support from Dianne Crisp, who was cheering and providing gels at various points as she cycled around the course.
Elsewhere, Ahmed Abdulle ran his first 3000m of the season at the Watford Open, coming fourth in a new personal best of 8.44.
Sam Rahman ran over the same distance at the Woodford Green Open, placing fifth in a time of 10.06 in cold conditions.
