Current and former pupils praised at awards ceremony
Oaks Park School paid tribute to their sporting achievers at an annual awards evening last week.
Headteacher Steve Wilks congratulated past students Kortney Hause and James Porter for their recent success with Gillingham and England Under-20s and Essex Cricket Club.
And a number of current pupils then received awards from Porter and Commonwealth Games triple jumper Chioma Matthews.
The under-16 netball squad won the Team of the Year trophy, while Jayden Charles collected the Craig Foster award, presented in memory of the popular teacher who passed away in August, for his contribution to the school football department.
Mia Blaney won the year seven sportsperson of the year prize, which she received from Porter.
