Motormen boss Ross hopes team can boost survival hopes with two wins this weekend

Redbridge will be looking to continue their recent upturn in league form when they journey to Haringey Borough on Saturday, the first of two games in two days with the club also due to host Cheshunt on Monday.

The Motormen know victory in that game is vital, with the club currently 11 points adrift of safety in the Ryman North with just 18 points left to play for in the current season.

And joint-manager Dave Ross knows he will have to pick his team up for the trip to Coles Park after losing an Essex Senior Cup semi-final on Tuesday.

“We’ll focus in training, but it’s a game we’re looking forward to because we’re hopeful of keeping up our good league form,” he said.

“We go there knowing we have to win, though. Draws just won’t do it for us anymore.”

Monday sees the Motormen host Cheshunt, who are currently only outside of the play-off places on goal difference.

One of the main reasons behind the Ambers’ promotion charge has been the form of striker Jason Hallett, who has struck 33 times in the league this season.

But while Ross is aware that his team must find a way to keep the attacker quiet, he knows the rest of the Cheshunt team can also cause problems.

“Jason is a good player and we know all about him, but there will be 10 other players on the pitch for Cheshunt that we will also have to think about,” added Ross.

“We’ll have to find a way to deal with him, but Saturday’s game is our first thought at the minute, then we’ll think about Monday.

“Both games are against good sides so we’ll see what we can do and hopefully we can get the wins that we are looking for at this stage of the season.”
