Work has begun on a former reservoir to build 79 homes.

Fairview New Homes started work this week after it acquired the brownfield site in New North Road, Hainault, and got planning permission for the new homes in October.

The new Fairview development, Bridleways will comprise a selection of two, three and four-bedroom houses, and one and two-bedroom apartments.

The homes are due to be ready for the first residents to move in by September.

Jim Holliday, Sales and Marketing Director for Fairview, said: “We are pleased to begin work on the former Hainault reservoir site and we look forward to bringing forward this development of high-quality new homes, which will help to meet local housing need.

“With Hainault Underground station, the M11 and M25 all within easy reach, as well as a good selection of local amenities, we believe that this is an excellent location to create a new community, and we look forward to launching Bridleways.”

Fairview will make payments totalling just under £850,000 through the community infrastructure levy scheme as part of the development of Bridleways. This money will fund local infrastructure to support the new development.
