Woodford man charged with shoplifting more than £6000 in prosecco and perfume

A 32-year-old Woodford man has been charged with 68 separate shoplifting offences amounting to a total haul of more than £6000.

Eddy Tamegnon, of Snakes Lane, Woodford Green was arrested yesterday and appeared in court Barkingside Magistrates’ court today (February 9).

He is charged with stealing items including prosecco, icecream and fragrances from pharmacies and petrol stations in the Woodford area.

The value of the allegedly stolen goods varies from £700 in fragrances from a pharmacy to £3.50 in drinks.

The dates of the offences range from July 2017 to January this year.

He has been remanded in custody to appear in Snaresbrook Crown Court on February 16 at 10am.
