A Woodford Green teenager is considering a career in psychiatry after winning the regional heat of an NHS competition.
Oliver OReilly, who attends Trinity Catholic High School, in Mornington Road, coompeted in the fifth Step into the NHS contest, which challenges students to design an advert and job description for their chosen role.
Oliver impressed judges with his campaign for an NHS psychiatrist.
He said: I looked at the role of a psychiatrist as I wanted to learn more about what people do in this role and how they help patients.
I have learnt a lot about the day-to-day work of a psychiatrist and am seriously considering a job in the NHS when I finish school.
Trinity Catholic headteacher Dr Paul Doherty said he was thrilled with Olivers success.
