Woodford Green teen arrested on suspicion of mugging teenagers in Loughton for their phones

A 17-year-old from Woodford Green has been arrested on suspicion of robbing a group of fellow teenagers of their phones in Loughton on Tuesday night (September 5).
Essex Police were called at 6.40pm to reports that a group of five teenage boys had been robbed in Roding Road.
They reported being approached and verbally intimated by two people who demanded they hand over their phones.
Once they had the phones, the two suspects then left the scene.
Following a thorough search of the area, officers arrested a 16-year-old boy from east London on suspicion of robbery and possession of a knife or bladed article.
The 17-year-old boy from Woodford Green was also arrested on suspicion of robbery.
Both were arrested at Debden Underground Station.
They remain in police custody.
Officers recovered the victim’s mobile phones, several other mobile phones and a knife.
Enquiries are ongoing.
