An impressive £18,000 was raised at Haven House Children’s Hospice’s summer fayre on Sunday.

The annual event was held in the hospice grounds, in High Road, Woodford Green, with more than 1,500 people – including ‘Allo ‘Allo! star Vicki Michelle – enjoying the many activities.

This year’s summer fayre had a circus theme with children enjoying circus skills, games, a special pirate playground and more whilst parents could relax at the Pimms station.

The event was brought to a close with a performance of classics from the likes of Frank Sinatra by Dave Sings Swings.

Vicki praised the efforts of volunteers who made the fayre possible.

“Haven House has a special place in my heart and it’s great to see so many people coming together to raise an excellent amount for the hospice,” she said.

“We really couldn’t put on the fair without our amazing volunteers and we are so grateful for their support.”
