A Woodford Green man and his family will “sleep-walk” in central London while dressed in pyjamas and nightcaps to raise money for a brain charity.
John Sullivan, 24, has been inspired to help the National Brain Appeal because of the care his 57-year-old father Michael received after suffering dizzy spells.
The appeal raises money for the capital’s National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, where doctors inserted a shunt into Michael’s brain cavity to treat a malformation which could have been fatal.
John said: “It was a very stressful time for my family, but we were treated so well by every member of staff at the hospital. “
Participants will go on a one-mile riverside walk starting opposite the London Eye on October 28 and pyjama parties, midnight feasts and bedtime story-telling are being organised as part of an appeal from Saturday.
Money will go towards two operating theatres at the hospital.
