A charity which supports youngsters with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses is hosting an initiative encouraging people to write their wills.

Haven House Children’s Hospice is holding the second Make a Will Week between October 6 and 10.

The event will see 15 local solicitors provide a free, standard will-writing and updating service to members of the public, with participants giving a small donation to the charity.

The Woodford Green hospice also hopes residents may consider leaving a “legacy” gift in their will.

Chief executive Mike Palfreman said: “Writing a will is something that most of us put off if we can, but it’s something that we should all consider if we want to provide for our loved ones in the future.

“Once provision is made for your nearest and dearest, the smallest legacy gift to Haven House means we can plan and safeguard the future of the hospice and the children and families we look after.”
