A girl group have struck the right chord with judges after progressing to the next round of a London talent show.

Xyra, based in Woodford Green, wowed industry judges with their first-round performance in the London Designer Outlet’s Musical Talent Search last week.

The girls, Nadina Knight, Amy Hannam, Beth Mills, Sasha Macintosh and Laura Keetley, all in their early 20s, are now eyeing the top prize of becoming the official buskers at the new retail complex in Wembley Park - and performing to thousands of shoppers.

And having already been praised for their tone, technique, rhythm, musicianship and the all-important star quality, they are excited about the prospect.

They said: “We all came to London hoping to find ‘the dream’ and we write together, arrange together, busk and love to perform all over the country.

“We each found our way in to music in different ways, some through dance, education but all of us through passion.”

The public can now vote for their local musician on twitter using the hashtag #musictalentsearch and naming their favourite musician @londonoutlet.

The four musicians with the most number of votes will perform at an ‘X Factor’ style showdown in front of judges at on April 5.
